Budokan is dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of “traditional” Japanese “Bujutsu.” We do our very best to give traditional martial arts a voice and a face, which properly defines the term “martial art” and contradicts currently prevailing views of what “traditional martial arts” really are in the minds of the general public.
We strive to ensure the traditions and practices of these centuries old Budo (Martial Ways) remain intact and untainted. We do this through an in-depth study of, and adherence to the Seven Precepts of Bushido, which are: Respect, Courage, Honor, Compassion, Honesty, and Loyalty; and in our every action, reflect the true meaning of the word, “Samurai — one who serves,” for the benefit of ourselves, our families and friends, and our communities.
