Our Philosophy
“Keiko Shokon”

For the Samurai, of ancient Japan, their codes of conduct and training emphasized developing focus, discipline, strength of character and respect. The emphasis of our study today is the same as it was then. However, today, as in the past, we never lose sight of our main purpose, which is to develop superior martial skills giving each student the ability to protect his or herself, and others, from physical harm in today’s less than perfect world.

Traditions of etiquette have always been inherent in the study of Japanese Martial Arts. These traditions build a strength of character, which provides each participant with the self-control, self-confidence and self-respect to stand up to all forms of stressful situations and intimidation.

Practice of the traditional techniques and movements of the Japanese Martial Arts develop coordination, strength and flexibility, which improve our health and enhance all other activities in life.

Our philosophy is simply stated in our motto:

Keiko Shokon"Study The Old To Understand The New."
