Sensei is the Japanese word for "teacher." A person awarded the title of Sensei (pronounced: sen-seh) is a expert level practitioner who holds the rank of Sandan (3rd Dan) or Yondan (4th Dan) Black Belt and has completed a minimum of 10 to 15 years of rigorous and comprehensive Martial Arts training, along with other extensive continuing education courses.
