| Tejutsu or "hand arts" is the second range of combat techniques proven to be effective in real-life self-defense. This range is determined by the reach of one's arms and legs.
This art, strategically being both defensive and offensive, allows you to keep your ma-ai (distance) from an attacker and then utilize the appropriate hand and/or foot techniques as the attacker enters into your "critical distance" or reach.
The effectiveness of Tejutsu techniques are not determined by size or strength. A primary aspect of our training is the development of speed, efficient movement and target accuracy. Because of this Heishin-Ryu Tejutsu is well-suited for all practitioners whether they be male or female. |
